Birth Registration how to

Apr 10 2011

We've had requests and calls for help from many of our Birthworks.co.za readers for information on how to register their new born baby / ies.  We had a fantastic contact who handled all the paperwork / standing in queues for our readers - but sadly, she has retired.

Until we can find another wonderful service operator to do this for you - you'll have to contact the Department Of Home Affairs directly.  Their website http://www.dha.gov.za/Ministry.html is extremely helpful. Click on birth certificates on the LHS and you'll receive all information needed. You can also download and print out all necessary forms required.

Registering a birth
Getting copies of birth certificates (unabridged and abridged)
Late registration of a birth
Registering the birth of a child born within wedlock
Registering the birth of a child born out of wedlock

As for the standing in queues - You'll have to handle this one until further notice!
